CATCH REPORTS TO 12th August.

The season ticket Syndicate water has been reasonably quiet this week, a combination of the Olympics proving very popular and the exceptionally warm weather less so! Reported fish include a smashing 38lbs 2ozs mirror for venue regular Dave Reekie taken on a pop up which he presented over a carpet of Mainline Grange baits. Pallatrax rod Oisin Riley bagged a 22lbs 8oz fish on ever popular Jungle, (now available in our onsite shop), and the same baits accounted for a 28lbs carp for Steve Ellison. Mal Best chipped in with 30lbs 6ozs mirror, and also of note was yet another personal best specimen eel in excess of 4lbs for Gavin Hewitt, a pleasant surprise!

At Emperor Lakes, we are keen to offer incentives for anglers who already fish with us, and those who haven’t had chance yet. Beginning in September we will be running two competitions each month which are completely free to enter, and you can win free fishing sessions at Emperor Lakes. To encourage anglers to submit catch reports and photos, the best picture submitted to us throughout the month will win a 24 hour session and we will also offer a 48 hour session for two anglers midweek, as part of our ongoing social media campaigns, so please check out our Facebook pages and make sure you ‘like’ us to find out more!

Meanwhile, on the day ticket lakes, Richard Wood netted a brace of 16lbs carp on a short day visit, and Russell Baker ended a lean spell with a 20lbs 6oz catfish which picked up his Mainline Cell hook baits. Dave Wood fished a longer session to land four different species, taking grass carp to 14lbs 11ozs, double figure moggies, common carp to 20lbs 13ozs and more than twenty tench to 5lbs+ in an amazing session where everything he tried worked! However, highlight of the week has to be a superb mirror of 34lbs 7ozs for Dan Gay, who also added a 20lbs cat to his tally.

Fish have been added to a number of lakes this week, five big cats each weighing over 20lbs have been introduced into the bottom lake, along with several carp to 21lbs. In other news, our fish rearing facility has had another stocking of fry to grow on and help maintain bio security. We are confident that our home grown fish will provide the very best sport for years to come!

Our brand new website should go live very soon; www.emperorlakes.co.uk and bookings are now being taken for the April 2013 on, when our current syndicate lake reverts to day ticket status. Please phone 07814 060147 to book your place.

CATCH REPORTS TO 5th AUGUST.

A better week, with the season ticket lake producing 6 carp over 30lbs. Mark Owen took a mirror of 36.10 and a common of 33.09, both on Pallatrax Jungle baits, and Carl Brown, on his first visit after waiting to get on the lake for 8 years, landed a mirror of 35.04. Tim Mountjoy banked mirrors of 36.08 & 33.02, plus a tench of 3.08, also on Pallatrax bails, while Dave Pierce took a mirror of 27.04, and Steve Burgess had a mirror of 30.04, on Essex baits.
Mark Owen with 33.09 common & 36.10 mirror.
Tim Mountjoy with mirrors of 33.02 & 36.08.
The day ticket lake also fished well, with a newish angler, Michael May, who has severe hearing difficulties, landing a new PB common of 28.08. He obviously grasped the advice given to him on earlier visits. Donny Tom landed a 21.02 common and 16.04 catfish, both on Contrast baits by Steve Renyard. Regulars, the Wood brothers, are on for the weekend, and have reported 10 carp to over 27lbs banked, with still time to go. All were taken on Pallatrax baits and a full report will appear next week. Mark Attwood landed catfish of 33.14 & 33.10, taken on Emperor Lakes own baits, and other carp up to 20lbs were reported by Kev Brooks, Barry Taylor and Phil Proud. Obviously the condition of fish is important, and it was good to note that Donny Tom described his carp as "stunning", and Barry Taylor logged his as "pristine".

The coarse pools produced a trio of tench of 5.10, 4.06 & 4.05, along with a specimen eel of 4lbs to Rod Worrall. Other heavy bags of mixed species reported by various anglers.

Pallatrax baits & terminal tackle, along with Cornwall baits, are now on site. Work will start this week, on the new shop/office/reception building, just inside the entrance gate of the otter fencing.

CATCH REPORTS TO 29th JULY.

Predictably, with the hot weather and high pressure, the larger carp were hard to tempt to the baits, but a few reasonable fish recorded. The season ticket lake produced common carp of 29.12 & 22.08 for Nigel Rogers, and Mark Owen took a 28.10 mirror. Steve Burgess landed a common of 27.07 plus a mirror of 26lbs, and Chris Manifold had a mirror of 24.09.

Nigel Rogers with 29.12 common.
On the day ticket water, Jamie Parr took a new PB catfish of 35lbs, whilst Gary Bowen reported a 21.13 catfish and 5.04 eel. Rodney Abbott had commons of 19.08 & 18.02, plus a 35lb catfish, Andy Igoe took a 19lb common, and Wayne Edwards landed a catfish of 38lbs. Kevin Lock had a lively session, taking commons of 17lb, 15.04, 15lb, 14.06 and 13.02, along with a ghostie of 16.04, and teen ghosties, commons & mirrors to just under 20lbs were reported by Chris Bibb, Steve Greenslade and Chris Furnival. A top up stocking of 13 carp from doubles to just over 30lbs were moved to this lake on Sunday.

Amiees Pool continues to produce mixed bags of over 60lbs, and this pool saw a small restocking of 4 tench of 8lb plus. Photos of both stockings will be published as soon as we receive the disc.

Can we please remind anglers that photos of their captures would be greatly appreciated. In particular we would like to have some of the bigger eels, which we appreciate some anglers may regard as a nuisance, but are nevertheless specimen sized fish, which are becoming somewhat rare. Please email photos to emperorlakes@btconnect.com

CATCH REPORT TO 22nd JULY.

A little slow this week, but a few good fish reported. The season ticket lake saw Tim Mountjoy with a 32.08 mirror, backed up with a 24.02 common and a 3lb tench, all taken on Pallatrax baits. Gareth Hazledean took a mirror of 26.02, plus a common of 19.04, Steve Ellison reported a 26.09 mirror and Oisin Riley had a 16lb common.
Tim Mountjoy 32.08 mirror.
Mark Owen with his 23.14 fully scaled mirror from last week.
The day ticket lake produced a 47lb PB catfish for Rodney Abbott, and numerous doubles carp to Paul Wood, Martin Redford, Keith Redford, Aaron Fisher and Andy Nicholls. It does seem that eels were beating other species to the bait this week with Donny Tom taking 6 from 1lb to 4.08, Nick Neal with a 3 pounder, Scott Farrer with 2 x 3lbs and a jack pike and Mark Wood with a 4lb eel and 12lb common.
Darren Shovel with his 25.06 from last week.
The coarse fish pools have continued to fish well, with Teardrop producing tench of 8.13 (PB), and 4.12 to Rod Worrall, taken on hair rigged worm & corn. Amiees is consistent with Tony Latter and Ashley Commander reporting mixed bags of 70-80lbs, during the early part of the week, despite persistent heavy showers.
Rod Worrall's 8.13 tench.
On Sunday Pete McMahon & son Jamie brought along a junior match team from Newton Abbott for their first visit to Emperor Lakes. They had a great day in the sunny weather, getting to know the pools, and taking a variety of species, including quality roach, from Amiees, Teardrop and Dans pools.

CATCH REPORTS TO 15th JULY.

Few reports from the season ticket lake, but a new 40 has been landed by John Andrew, a mirror of 41.08, and a PB for him. John also landed another mirror of 30.04. Other reports include mirrors of 29.01 to Brian Male, 26.14 to Chris Manifold and a striking fully scaled mirror of 23.04 to Mark Owen. Dave Reekie banked a pretty fully scaled stockie of 12.08.
John Andrews with his 41.08 mirror.
 Chris Manifold with 26.14 mirror.
The day ticket lake fished well again, and catches included an eel of 6.08 to Lee Sercombe, which of course is specimen size. The catfish were again active, with a 48.06 to Martin Simms, along with a 19.04 mirror. Paul Clarke took a cat of 35lbs and Darren Fleet landed another two of 33.01 & 32.08. Mark Green banked a common carp of 30.02, Darren Shovel had a mirror of 25.06, plus a common of 16.06, and Doug Newton took a common of 21.08 and a mirror of 18.08. Glyn Sercombe took mirrors of 20.04 & 15.04 and Ron Latchford logged a mirror of 24.01, Steve Greenslade had a 20.02 mirror, whilst Ian Wood took a grassie of 13.07. A number of other carp up to high teens were reported.
Amiees Pool continues to produce mixed bags, with Jamie Parr reporting a mixed bag of over 70lbs and Stuart Johnson took a bag of 65lbs+. Other anglers have logged 40lbs plus bags in short sessions.

Following the torrential rain and subsequent flooding, Dans Pool will be closed for a short time, whilst being drained and repaired. Other repairs around the site are being carried out as quickly as possible, with the total cost expected to run into thousands of pounds.

Check out the Carp Talk/Pallatrax competition on the Emperor Lakes site in Facebook. A 48 hour session for two anglers, including £50 worth of bait is up for grabs.

CATCH REPORTS TO 8th JULY.

Despite the atrocious weather conditions, it was a very reasonable week. The torrential rain over Friday night did a considerable amount of damage to some swims & pathways, and particularly the road tracks, where huge quantities of stone were washed away. However, the prompt reaction of Dave and other willing helpers, meant that the fishery was kept open over the weekend.

Reported captures on the season ticket water included a PB mirror of 37lbs to Chris Rampling on Ace baits, and Rod Phillips with mirrors of 35.11 and 21.09, plus a common of 29.01 on Cornwall baits. Steve Burgess took a 25lb mirror on Essex baits, and Phil Jakes moved from the day ticket lake for his first night, landing a new PB mirror of 34.12. Fishery owner Dave Lidstone managed a night on the lake, (only for his second time in two years), and took a common of 33lbs.

 Chris Rampling 37lb mirror.
 Rod Phillips 35.11 mirror.
Phil Jakes 34.12 mirror.
More information on the new record catfish for the complex, (pictured last week), is now available. The captor of the 70.12 catfish was Nigel Rogers, a builder from Frogmore in the South Hams. The fish was taken on a CC Moore boilie, at 9.30pm on Sunday 1st July. It took 30 minutes to land, after a powerful fight on carp tackle, and was testament to the skill of this very capable angler. This is believed to be the smallest of two catfish still in the season ticket water, both believed to have been hooked and lost a number of times over the past two years. It was immediately moved to the day ticket water, as will any other cats landed from the season ticket lake. As this was caught on the season ticket lake, the prize of free fishing is still available to day ticket anglers, providing it's caught on Pallatrax bait.

A little slower on the day ticket this week, and some catches not logged. Pete Scrivanos had a respectable session with common carp of 23.12 & 22lbs, 2 upper double ghosties and a 14lb golden grass carp. Nigel Britton landed commons of 20.08 & 19.02, on his first visit to the lake and doubles were logged by Paul Wood, Clifford Baker and Joe Neale.

Below. A couple of captures from last week, with apologies for first one, due to a failed flash.

CATCH REPORTS TO 1st JULY.

This evening, Sunday 1st July, the complex catfish record was shattered with a fish of 70.12, (above), to Nigel Rogers, fishing the season ticket lake. It was then moved to the day ticket lake.
Another good week, particularly on the day ticket lake, where the catfish were very active. Best cat reported was a 50.01 PB to Roy Williams, along with 2 common carp to 20.02, whilst Paul Partlett took a PB cat of 44.04, and close behind was Martin Cadle with a 40.02, also a PB. Tony Green took his first cat of 36.10, obviously a PB, and Alan Gaylard landed a PB cat of 46.08.

Steve Briggs came down from Northampton with three friends, and took a PB mirror of 33.06, along with a tench of 5lbs and four common carp to 25.04, and Dave Wood had a good session with 7 commons to 25.08, along with a mirror of 17.05. A lot more carp reported, from teens to mid twenties, to the Abbott family, Loiu Russell, Matt Briggs, Jill Williams and Barry Brewer. Small baits and white pop-ups over pellet very successful for carp, whilst Pallatrax catfish bait and marine halibut pellets have accounted for most catfish.
Paul Partlett 44.04 catfish.

 Martin Cadle with 40.02 catfish.
 Steve Briggs 33.06 mirror.
Dave Wood with his 25.08 common.
The season ticket lake reports are sketchy, but Chris Manifold logged a common of 33lbs and a mirror of 24.07. Martin Thacker landed a mirror of 30.08, Chris Woodgate took a 29lbs mirror and Malcolm Best reported a mirror of 27.04.

The coarse pools continue to fish well with bags of roach, carp & tench over 80lbs, with very short sessions producing 40lb mixed bags. Maggots, pellets & corn were most successful baits.
