HOLIDAY LAKE CATCH REPORT. W/E 23rd OCTOBER.

The weather was against us this week, with a ridge of high pressure and a severe temperature drop at night, making fishing was a little more difficult. However this didn't stop the Gatwick five from enjoying their exclusive week on the day ticket lake.
First to land a fish was Howard, who banked a 45.08 sturgeon which led him a merry dance taking half an hour to land, and then backed this up with a fine common of 17.10, which he described a beautiful bronze coloured fish. Next off the mark was Dwaine who, through the night banked commons of 16-08 & 12lb. Alan then stepped into the frame with a superb 40.04 sturgeon and a ghost common of 11.06, followed by Chris who took a 15.04 common. Dwaine then came back on line, taking a superbly  conditioned 32-08 mirror and a 15.02 common. Alan was having none of this and stepped up the game banking a 10.06 ghostie and 12.12 common, followed up with a further two fish, a 20.08 mirror and 15.04 common. Dwaine managed a further common of 16-14, and Mark came good on his final day, landing a 40.10 sturgeon and a 16.04 common. All the lads thoroughly enjoyed their holiday with us and have re-booked for May next year.
John & Gavin Lear came down to the lake for a short session, after the group left on Saturday and Gavin certainly showed his dad the way to go, by landing a fine sturgeon of 47.04 and mirror of 17.02. However, angler of the week must be Dwaine with his PB mirror of 32.08, Well done.
Just to remind you that fishing on this lake is by prior booking. To book in,or to first view the lake, please call on 07814 060147. If you require any assistance with rigs or baits, please feel free to ask, as we are here to help.  On a finishing note we would like to thank Stuart Johnson for his continued help around the lakes and congratulate him on his 24.14 mirror which is his new PB.

DAY TICKET CATCH REPORTS W/E 14/10/10.

With water temperature still falling rapidly, fishing has become sporadic, with fish showing from various pegs and not from others. Anglers need to be using watercraft and carefully selecting swims which are showing signs of feeding fish.

Ian Donaldson kicked the week off with a fine brace of carp, a nice common of 10.08 and
a mirror of 16.04. Next was Pete Corp who banked a superb common of 25.02, describing the fish as a very powerful ghostie. Dick Tribble had a pb Sturgeon of 41.02 and a 6lb Catfish whilst friend Phil put a 13.08 common carp on the bank.

Justin Mash banked  two commons, one of 14.08 and the other at 17.04 and Steve Cutland had a tremendous fight with his new pb Sturgeon, a stunning fish weighing in at 42.12. Relative newcomer to the sport Ryan banked a pb Eel of over 3lb and Roy Kennedy on his visit with son Ryan, banked a 43.04 sturgeon and a beautiful 23.08 mirror.

Our angler of the week was Teignmouth rod Lee Cooper who banked a pb Sturgeon of 41.04 then broke this with another of 42.08 and then shattered this with a third of 46,12. He then went on to land a 56.02 catfish, also a new pb and just to finish his session he landed a12.04 ghost carp.

DAY TICKET WATER CATCH REPORT W/E 1/10/10

The weather conditions for our first week of opening were horrendous, with virtually non stop torrential rain and gales on the first two days with even more heavy showers to follow through the week. The anglers who braved these appalling condition were not washed out and were rewarded with some excellent catches.

Gavin Lear fishing peg 7 beat his father John into submission with a fine 22lb common, a new pb for him. Mike Pollard, on his first visit, landed 2 commons of 11.08 and 15.08, Danny Williamson from Swindon fishing peg 6, had a pb common in stunning condition at a very respectable 23.12, Pete Headon fished peg 3 for his pb catfish, a fine specimen of 29lb, then backed this up with a 15lb cat and three carp, a 15lb mirror, 16.06 common and a 13.08 common. His mate Chris fished peg 4, and banked a fine 15lb mirror, Dan Wingrave fished peg 2 to land his new pb common of 21.10 and a little 8lb ghostie.
Daniel Gale fished peg 1 for his first sturgeon, a superb specimen of 41.04, Vic Cranfield and the lads from Skegness fishing pegs 9,10 and 11 had an excellent session, with Graham banking three 20lb+ mirrors to storm into the lead, leaving Vic and Dave struggling to catch up. Bill Jenkins banked a new pb cat of 48.12, a sturgeon of 45.06 and three carp the largest being a superb 28.10 mirror.

Despite the poor weather, a reasonable opening week, and we are certain there will be more to come in future reports. Three or four anglers left without handing in catch reports so there could have been more. Please hand your reports in and we will try to publish them.

Danny Williamson with 23lb+ common.
