CATCH REPORT TO 23rd JANUARY.

With the weather now more stable, the fish are starting to show, but anglers are just starting to drift in. A few anglers on the bottom water, with David Reekey reporting the capture of a superb condition common of 18.02, with another larger fish lost. Andy Buchanon landed a 40.04 sturgeon, backed up with a stunning 26lb 03oz mirror. Sam Freeman had a 19.12 mirror in excellent winter condition, and Pete Royston took a 42.06 sturgeon and a common of 21.10.

PLEASE NOTE. On the coaching/stock lakes ONLY barbless hooks are permitted, and NO trout pellets must be used. CATCH REPORTS TO 16th JANUARY 2011.

Not unexpectedly, fishing has been slow to pick up, but is now begining to improve, with the arrival of milder conditions. From the returns which have been entered from the bottom day ticket lake, Richard Warmsley took a sturgeon of 46.10, Rod Spiller had a mirror of 22.04 and a common of 14.06 and Sam Freeman landed a sturgeon of 44.08. Adrian & Dave fished peg 2 through the night, when they lost three large fish.

Piking is quite lively, with a few smaller fish to Nigel Edgecombe, Andy Buchannon & Alan Morris who also had a clear sighting in the margins, of a pike he estimated in excess of 30lbs. Although he tried for this fish, it wouldn't play ball, and sidled off.

Best report from the top lake is a beautiful mirror of 37.08 to Kevin Goody, and was caught at 8pm on 15th January. Weather conditions at the time were brisk SW wind, low pressure & overcast, water about 6 degrees. Bait was a boilie, popped up 3" over a small amount of crumbled boilies.
If anglers want a fun day, the top stock lake will shortly be available, when the purpose built quality fishing platforms are completed. This pond is heavily stocked with a mixture of carp, ghosties, roach, rudd & tench, plus a few surprises. Priced competitively at £8 & coaching is also available on this, and other waters, if required. This will be supplied by our own level 2 coaches, who are fully licenced, insured and CRB checked. Why not have a day off, Mums & Dads?

Details of our ANGLING COACHING & NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS is now on the web site.

IMPORTANT. There is currently a petition to the EU, to stop fishing boats being forced to throw 50% of their catches back into the sea DEAD, or risk heavy fines for exceeding their quotas. This is a criminal waste of good food, and does absolutely NOTHING to "conserve fish stocks", a point that the overpaid, pompous members of the EU seem to have failed to understand. Please sign the petition, get your families & friends to sign, and pass the link to all your email contacts. The petition already has over 500,000 signatures, and hopefully some semblance of sanity may eventually prevail. The link is http://www.fishfight.net/sign-up/
THANK YOU.

NOW OPEN AGAIN.

At last the ice & snow has disappeared, and we're open for business again. A few anglers on over the past few days, and some fish coming out. Not surprisingly, the pike anglers are doing quite well.
