CATCH REPORTS TO 25th MARCH.

Another good week, with numerous anglers taking new PB's. The day ticket lake produced a good number of fish, the best being a PB mirror of 34lb to 16 year old Richard Wood, already a very capable angler. Other captures included a PB cat of 43.07 to Tony Kingsley, a 29.05 PB mirror carp to Adam Sloman, along with a double figure ghostie and an 18.09 to Russell Baker. All Tony's, Russell's and Adam's and some which were lost came to the Emperor Specials boilies from Cornwall Baits, and most were on zig-rigs. Jez Harris of Priory Fish Farm on his first visit, took a 19lb+ common.

Adam Sloman with 29.05 mirror.
Best fish reported from the season ticket lake is a mirror of 34.05 to Steve Ellison, a long standing member, who is consistently putting fish on the bank recently. The coarse pools are fishing very well with numerous heavy bags reported.

Dave & Jo are delighted to announce that Council planning permission has at last been granted for new cabins and lakes. This exciting development will enable them to cater for a wider angling audience, particularly with the building of a new lake for specimen mixed coarse fishing, and possibly a catfish only water.

Again, apologies for the delay, but we have finally received the disc of the netting of the day ticket lake, including pics of a 40lb plus mirror. A small number of the pics are below.

CATCH REPORTS TO 18th MARCH.

The good weather has encouraged anglers to get out on the bank, with all the waters here being busy and producing good catches. Of the coarse pools, Amiees has fished well all week, with the best bag being 71lb of mixed species, mainly small carp and roach, to Torquay angler Mark Reese.

The day ticket specimen lake has been steady and some lumps have been out. Amongst the reported catches were cats to 34lb for Glenn Island, and Richard Bradbeare took a lovely 23.08 mirror, caught on our own Emperor boilies from Cornwall Baits. Jack Palmer from Exeter landed a mirror of 28.06, John from Newbarn, on a guest ticket, had a mid double common, but top honours go to the Dobson brothers from Exmouth, with Martin taking a 32+ mirror and Alan taking a 27+ mirror, both being new PB's.

The season ticket lake has also thrown up some lumps, with Malcolm Best netting a 35.12 common, the second large common in as many weeks. Steve Ellison took a 29 lb common and Nigel Edgecombe of Loddiswell had a lovely brace consisting of a mirror of just over 30lbs and a common of 25.08, a new fish stocked a year ago at low twenties.

CATCH REPORTS TO 11th MARCH.

A better week, particularly on the season ticket lake, where Malcolm Best took a common of 28.08, Steve Ellison had a mirror of 33lbs and Keith Everard landed a beautiful, huge framed mirror of 30.10, (see pic below). However best result was to Dan Williams on a 48 hour session, when he took mirrors of 25.02, 34lbs and 41.08, the latter being a new PB for him. This is a known fish which has been showing an excellent weight gain over the past two years, and a first time capture over 40lbs. A number of 30lb carp are known to be showing similar growth rates, and we are convinced that a number of new 40's will grace the bank this year.

Large numbers of fish showing on the day ticket lake, and obviously feeding as numerous fish have been hooked, but unfortunately many were lost. Of the recorded captures this week, the best was a 27.02 mirror to Martin Robson from Cornwall.

Good fishing on the coarse pools this week, particularly Amiees Pool, which is consistantly producing heavy bags of mixed species. This pool, along with Teardrop & Dans Pool are now open from 6am to dusk, seven days a week.

We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting the Nash Roadshow on 16th & 17th June. Please see the Nash website for more details.

Just a final reminder that Syndicate subs are due, in cleared funds, by 20th March, for those who want to re-join for the year starting 1st April. All current members are invited to re-join, unless they have been notified otherwise.

CATCH REPORTS TO 4th MARCH

The day ticket lake has now re-opened and the catfish have become very active. Dave Wood fished specifically for them over a 24 hour session, and got five takes. A small cat of 20+ was landed, but four others were lost, all of which were seen, one being a very large fish, probably in the 60-70lbs range, dropped right at the net. Martin Jarvis took a nice brace of carp with a 24.12 common and 26.02 mirror, and other captures were made, although not logged.

Only a couple of anglers on the season ticket water, where Mark Pollard took a 30.04 mirror and an unknown plated mirror of 14.00, obviously a home bred fish.

On the coarse fish pools, Amiees, Dans & Teardrop, five new swims have been completed. These pools are becoming increasingly popular, and have been producing bags to over 60lbs this week, with one angler taking a 20lb bag of silvers in just 3 hours, and Adam Sloman took a roach just under 2lbs from Aimees pool. Advance booking is advised, and please note that we will open the gate at 6am and allow fishing till dusk.

Apologies to those who are still waiting to see the fish photos from the netting of the day ticket lake, but we are still waiting to get them. We only have some taken of the drain down and actual netting. A few are below.

Few will need three guesses who's daft enough to be
swimming in freezing water in the middle of February.

Photos of the fish WILL be published as soon as we get them.
