CATCH REPORT TO 29th JANUARY.

Work parties virtually excluded fishing over both Saturday & Sunday, and just two or three anglers fished through the week. The only reported captures were from the day ticket lake, where Stewart Jones took a PB mirror of 35lbs, along with commons of 17.01 & 14.03, whilst Dean Channing took a mid teen common.

In contrast to the lack of anglers on the two main lakes, an increasing number are fishing the general coarse  pools. Some good catches of mixed fish reported, with the best, a catch of over 50lbs, taken on red maggot and sweetcorn.

CATCH REPORTS TO 15th JANUARY.

Predictably, little to report this week, with the temperatures plummeting. Only a handful of anglers, and just two fish known to have been landed from the season ticket water, one being a tench of 7lbs to Dave Reekie, a very unusual capture for this time of year. The second was not logged, but was captured by Martin Thacker, believed to be a mirror carp of 26lb+.

The only reports from the day ticket water were a 22lb common to Sean Powell, 16.05 common to Steve Munday and a 17.02 ghostie to Burt Collins.

CATCH REPORT TO 8th JANUARY.

Not a long report this week, but some quality fish logged from both lakes. The season ticket lake produced a lovely brace for Dave Reekie, a pristine common of 34.04 and a pretty linear mirror of 31.04. Both were carrying very little, if any spawn yet, and could be considerably heavier by the Spring. Dave Land took a mirror of 32.14, Rob Pierce landed a mirror of 29.02 and Anthony Locke had a mirror of 25lbs.

Only one fish actually logged from the day ticket lake, a 35.06 mirror to Scott Easton. There are known to have been a number of other captures, but none were logged.

Please see the blog below for details of intended work parties. This will now include laying wood chippings on swims and pathways around the lakes. All help will be gratefully received.

HELP NEEDED PLEASE.

The high winds this week have caused considerable storm damage on the lakes. Dave will sort out any immediate or urgent problems, but with so many other things to do, he really needs some help with a good clear up.

Therefore work parties have been arranged for Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th January, beginning at 9am. Any help from members will be greatly appreciated, and those on the waiting list are more than welcome.

On a better note, fishing has been lively over the first half of this week, with some big fish landed on both lakes. A full report will be published on Monday.
